Some Small Changes May 24 2017

In the next few days there will be a few changes.

Due to my upcoming charity work I will be scaling back some of my operations. I'm excited about this but I want to reassure you that you will not notice much except for a slightly different website and maybe a few less blogs.

In an effort to keep costs down my shop will soon be located on Etsy and the website will be hosted on WordPress.

You will still be able to find me at hkellydesigns.com. There may be a short time when I transition when the website might be down. I hope this will not be long and if there are any issues I will let you know.

I hope this will not cause any problems for you and I am looking forward to continuing to offer you amazing bags! If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me at any time at heidi@hkellydesigns.com.

I also will be doing more custom bags and can't wait to see what we can work on together!

Biggest Sale Ever May 11 2017

It's been so long and I'm ready to move on!

I'm not ending HKelly designs but I am clearing out all the current handbags. There are limited amounts of every handbag and some may never be made again. So now is your chance!

Almost all bags are more than HALF OFF!

So get in and get them before they disappear!

Another Step Forward, Fighting Fear, Trying out for a Fashion Show! April 26 2017 1 Comment

So my biggest fear is failure.

Not death, not spiders, FAILURE!

But in the past few years, I have started to grow up (only in the fear department, not anything else!!! :P)...

Wow, I'm humbled! April 19 2017

I'm humbled by all your responses, from private emails to texts to responses on social media.

In the last week my life has done a total 180! I've come up with some ideas that will make my life more fulfilling, my brain has been better, I've been blogging on Rants & Musings of a Breast Cancer Survivor and though I'm emotional, I'm excited to see what's next!

I Change, You Change, Life Changes April 12 2017

Recently, I have been dealing with some things and you know I always keep it real, or try to.

I truly believe that recently, I have been going through a slight depression. I've talked to my therapist and I've talked to my husband. Things, though I was hiding them, were building.

Last week I sat down and wrote all my frustrations down, like 20 pages of hand writing (I'm still old school and emotion comes from a pen).

Blue October, "I Want It" "Everybody Owns a Scar... April 05 2017

...To show us how we got this far
Cause we are who we are and we'll be who we'll be
Don't ever think you'll take away the fight in me.
I want it...
I want it more than you ever did...
They're always going to talk
But I'm never going to stop..."

This passed weekend I was lucky enough to see my fav band, Blue October, yet again for the Heart Goes Bang Tour! And this time I got to actually meet them and get autographs and even a headlock and hug from Justin Furstenfeld, lead singer. Words cannot express the joy and excitement of those moments.

Emotional Days, Life is Hard, but we Have to Keep Going. breast cancer Cannot Win March 29 2017

The past week has been a roller coaster of emotions and events, thank you, breast cancer. You know I'm not afraid to share, so here it goes.

Last week I finally got to my check-up, after blood tests, bone scans, chest x-rays and a letter from my doctor saying she would be leaving soon.

Not sure you know but, most if not all, cancer patients dread the tests, scans and appointments. Thinking is it back? Am I ok? Why this scan? Why that test?

Results for me...

Visit to GoggleWorks March 14 2017

Last week I got the opportunity to visit GoggleWorks in Reading, PA, thanks to my friend, Cynthia Thomasset of www.cynthiathomasset.com. Cynthia is an artist in residence and she gave me a tour. GoggleWorks has art shows going on year round as well as artists who work in their studios. From clay to glass making to mixed media to tattoo artist to paper artists. They also offer classes and even have a movie theater showing some of the more artsy/documentary movies twice a day.

Spring Brings Warmth, Color and Surprises March 07 2017

Spring is almost here! And that always brings a smile to my face!

I don't know about you, but I'm excited for the warmer weather, the leaves on the trees and all the beautiful colors spring brings.

Spring is in the air!

A Day in NYC at New York Fashion Week (Part 3) February 28 2017

The 3rd and final installment of our trip to NYC for the Oxford Fashion Studio fashion show is all about the rest of the fashion show. Last week I profiled Anthi G and the week before the visit to The Museum at FIT.

A Day in NYC for New York Fashion Week (Part 2) February 20 2017

So, the main reason Rachel and I went to NYC was to see our friend Anthi G show at the Oxford Fashion Studio for New York Fashion Week. Today I'm going to talk with Anthi as well as show you some of her show. (All images were taken by Rachel Strabley Caldicott since I was doing a live video from my phone!)

A Day in NYC for New York Fashion Week (Part 1) February 15 2017

So, this past weekend I had the opportunity to check out my first New York Fashion Week fashion show! I was there to cheer on a friend who was showing, Anthi G, and met my friend, stylist Rachel Strabley Caldicott. Rachel and I decided to make a day of it and check out some other things and have a girls' day in the Big Apple!

First on the menu was brunch at Haymaker Bar and Kitchen. And you know what brunch means, right? Prosecco!!!

Your #1 Tool For Your Closet February 08 2017 1 Comment

Today, I'm lucky to have Jessica Maynard-Gilbert of Ava Grace Fashions guest post for me. She is all about scarves being the #1 tool in your closet. So without further ado, here is Jessica!

I am Jessica Gilbert, owner of Ava Grace Fashions. Ava Grace is all about comfortable, easy style. I also make shopping super easy with 3 ways to shop; with a store located in Ellicottville, NY, our website and via comments on our Facebook page posts and videos.

I have helped thousands of busy women up their style game with my style how-to videos. The number one video is how to wear your scarf as a VEST. So I believe the #1 tool for your closet is a SCARF or 4!

World Cancer Day 5 Years Later February 03 2017

February 3, 2012 I was told I had a tumor in my breast. Just a few days later, after a biopsy and a lot of stressful waiting, I found out I was diagnosed with breast cancer at the age of 38. No family history, under the age of 40 and I did not have a lump (it actually presented as a dent).

February 3, 2012 was also my 5 year wedding anniversary.

Las Vegas Photo Shoot with my InstaHubby January 25 2017 2 Comments

This past weekend my husband and I visited Las Vegas (we got married there almost 10 years ago!) for a little vacation but we also snuck in some photo sessions of my bags to update the website. I finally made my husband an InstaHubby. For those of you who don't know what that is, it's when bloggers and influencers on Instagram get their husbands/boyfriends to take photos for them.

Ok, for those of you who don't know, I'm not much of a foodie, nor am I a cook, and I am a super picky eater.

So today, I'm going to give you my two favorite, no bake snacks good for any party!

First is my fav cheese snack ever!...

More Mustard Please December 14 2016

Getting you ready for the holidays, here is a look at the trend color, Mustard. I had the lovely opportunity to have blogger, Alisha Cristine of Techie Doodlers, write about this trend just in time for you to wear it during the holidays!

Here is Alisha Cristine:

A couple of months ago, a post on HKelly designs' blog section announced the release of the Guide to Mixing and Matching Prints and Colors. The lovely Stephanie Yeung of MADEIRA contributed her valuable insights to help everyone out there be stylish in their own way.
